Card File System Specifications
|
General Design: Card file system is designed to accommodate
cards, CD’s or DVD’s in cardboard or plastic cases.
Card files are manufactured with 5, 6, 7 and 8 drawers in 41" and
53" heights, 15",19" and 21" widths. All drawers are suspended
in ball-bearing, telescoping slides to fully extend and carry heavy
weight. The drawers can be locked with a key operated plunger
lock. In addition they are latched in a closed position and can
be opened only by operating a thumb latch next to the drawer
handle. All card files are 28" deep and come in 5 standard colors. |
|
Materials: Card Files are fabricated
of high quality, cold rolled carbon steel, free of scale or rust
and fully pickled. Exposed edges, corners and surface areas are
free of sharp edges and all workmanship is of the highest quality
as measured by the industry. |
|
Finish: All steel components shall be thoroughly cleaned and
phosphatized for rust resistance in a five-stage pre-treatment
process. A high grade of polyester/epoxy powder paint is to be
applied electrostatically with a gloss reading of between 55 and
65. The finish shall have a salt spray rating of 250 hours or more. |
|
Cabinet: The cabinets consist of side panels with stiffeners, a
top and a 3" high bottom, as well as a back panel. The sides
are made from 22 gauge, the top from 20 gauge and the back
panel from 24 gauge. Three stiffeners are welded into each side
panel for strength and sound deadening purposes. They also are
supporting the ball-bearing slides and locking bar. The lock bar
is activated by the plunger lock and prevents the drawers from
opening while in the locked position. The cabinet is welded and
paint finished. |
|
Drawers: All drawers operate on ball-bearing slides, which can
be fully extended. The load capacity of each
drawer is 120 pounds. The
drawer itself consists of a body, a
front with inner liner, a back panel and two tracks for sliding
compressors. The frame is made of 24 gauge, the front of
22 gauge, with a 22 gauge liner and the back panel is made
of 22 gauge. The tracks contain two slides, depressed and
welded into the bottom of the drawer. The entire welded assembly
is paint finished. The front panel contains the thumb
latch mechanism for holding the drawer within the cabinet. On
the front face of the drawer is the brushed aluminum drawer
handle, which is attached with screws, as well as two stainless
steel label holders, for inserting identification cards. Each
drawer has a divider panel which is used to divide it into two
lengthwise compartments. |
|
Follower Block or Compressor: These are used to keep materials
upright and organized. There are two compressors furnished
with each drawer. They slide in the two above mentioned
tracks of each drawer and can be adjusted in 1" steps
from the front to the back of the drawer. They are made of
painted 16 gauge steel. |
|
Ball-Bearing Suspensions: Telescoping ball-bearing slides allow
full extension of the drawers. The slides have met ANSI/BIFMA standards. They have been tested for 70,000 openings
and closings and are made of steel with zinc dormant finish.
Urethane bumpers cushion the end positions. |
